At Rwanda Eco-Tours, we give you a chance to immerse yourself in our culture, work, conservation and to connect with our community projects. The people, a life time chance to create a difference in our community and country as you learn about us and bio-cultural diversity that at the end will give you a family and friends at the other end of the world. This allows you to combine your travel with meaningful work that positively impacts the livelihoods of the less priveledged.

The most rewarding experience we have been able to notice in our conservation and community development work, is to help people in need.

this not only gives you a chance to naturally experience personally the authenticity of Rwanda but also to engage with us, learn from us as we learn from you, stay with us in our community, and all this will enrich your life experience as we do, and you will gain more as you help change the world and making it a better place for all of us to not only afford the basics of life but to live in happily.

Our Voluntouring, Volunteer and Placement Programs

Our programs are all in the countryside ranging from environment, culture, community development, agriculture, socio-economic programs, and even when we are not directly linked, we connect you to places and communities in need. The opportunites ranging from Education, Health, Fmaily Planning, Community Based Tourism Initiatives, Business Management, Conservation, Environment, Conservation, Agriculture, and other short hands on programs that can benefit directly our community. All these programs starts with an initiation program about our culture, way of life, social dynamics, code of conduct, guidelines and other community ethics.

We then allocate you to your project of your choice to work on. Depending on yout time, project of interest, we allocate you resources and a community hands on team to work with, whether its building a home for the needy, painting a home, teaching at a local school, etc you witness the impact of your project and take part in celebrations to mark successful finish of your project.

During the course of your project, you get to learn more about our culture, behaviour, community practices, ways of living and the best way to get to know local people is to take part in their day to day life activities. We make sure that during your time with us, in our community, you have time for extra activities that takes you out to experience more of our community and  country side.

For placements, we have a range of activites that you can take part in ranging from education, community development, conservation, community based tourism, ecotourism, responsible and sustainable tourism entrepreneurship, environment, research etc.

What is Required?

We need your expertise, your concern, experience and willingness to share with us your life story as we share our with you, either way it might impact both of us positively. What makes a difference is your time, dedication, commitment, passion to humanity cause that making a difference in people's lives is our responsibility. Despite this, be aware that we a re a different community from your community, we behave differently, believe differently, play differently, and respect our elders, and have certain ethics we adhere to, by coming to be part of our community, you must understand us, respect the fact that our culture and behaviour is different from your. this demands you to adjust, and appreciate us the way we are.

Or accommodation facility is basic, no electricity, no runinng water, we only use lanterns for light and fetch water from local taps in jerricans and store our water. While with us, you will be asked to take part in our daily chores, fetch water, collect fire wood, cook food, buy food in the local market, sweep the compound, go the garden, harvest food, milk cows etc, and its these activities that will make you experience real Rwandan and African at the end of the day.

How it Works

We at Rwanda Eco-Tours dont charge you for this lifetime experience opportunity, we only ask you for an investment cost that you will invest in your development project of choice, what we do, we make sure you are part of the team, just like we do that makes a difference in people lives. We belive that peolpe shouldnt be charged a fortune because of their willingness to help others and to make a difference in their lives, we were not charged for this, we invested willingfully, we have seen the difference, so we will make sure you do too.

What we will do, we will make a costing for the project which you will fund and supervise until the prject is complished. You will manage this project with your community, work with the community, such that by the time you finishworking on your project, you are able to quantify and monitor the impact your project has had on the local people, their families and the community as a whole. Our comunity is waiting for you, we need your helping hand as we witness our rebirth, support our renewal and we are ready to give you our welcoming heart of friendship and brotherhood.

Condition

To perticipate in in all this, you must be above 18 years, below that, you must be in company of your parents, family or relatives. We take into consideration your safety, we therefore insure your membership package with flying doctors, Public Liability Insurance but encourage you to get your own insurance.

Why do we do all this?

We acknowledge that we have been helped in our life to get to where we are now. Without that helping hand, we would be who and where we are today. We are now sure of how what you call a small gesture can make a lifetime impact and difference in a persons life. We therefore link those who want to help with those who need help and build this relationship without making it a business entity. You therefore dont require education, expertise, experience, and anything to do this, and certainly not money, but passion, commitment, and time to do this.
